  • My Approach

One of the things I love most about counseling and coaching is that no client or journey is the same. But almost everyone can benefit from the collaboration of a trusted partner. As your partner, I work to integrate approaches to meet your unique needs, including both eastern and western wellness approaches, mindfulness, neuroscience, trauma treatments and other models that put the client first. I believe compassion, a focus on the present and the positive, and a sense of humor can go a long way in the healing journey.

Research and real life experience show the key to successful therapeutic outcomes lies in the trusted connection between counselor and client. I honor my clients’ lived experiences and beliefs and work with them to find the best path forward based on their unique needs and values. We may work through a problem or decision, focus on improving a challenging relationship, explore your values and goals and the path forward that is most aligned with both, identify recurring obstacles, or build acceptance and loving kindness to yourself and others. No matter what you need or where you want to go, we will work together to find clarity through a supportive approach tailored to you.

I bring to the practice of counseling and coaching 15 years of experience in psychotherapy with individuals, families and couples. I also bring a professional background in communications and non-profit management. The most gratifying work for me is helping people discover and live out their own possibilities. I am inspired by my clients every day.

Prior to launching my private practice, I trained as an individual, family and eating disorder therapist at Kaiser Permanente and have continued my training in eastern philosophy and meditation, trauma and grief recovery and anxiety management.

I also formerly served as a spokesperson for U.S. Attorneys General Janet Reno and John Ashcroft at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC, and as President and CEO of the Colorado Children’s Campaign where I led a highly-effective 21-person team dedicated to improving the lives of Colorado kids through research and policy change.
